Partially Fulfill Orders

How to ship orders partially or split

Overview

When you need to ship what’s available and hold back unallocatable items, you can use the Split Orders feature to partially fulfill orders. This splits the order into fulfillable and unfulfillable portions—both in ShipSidekick and in Shopify.

Steps

  1. Filter for Unallocated Orders Navigate to the Orders table and apply a filter for Unallocated status. This surfaces all orders that contain items not currently available in inventory.

  2. Select the Orders to Split Check the boxes next to each order you want to partially fulfill.

  3. Open the Action Menu With your orders selected, open the Action Menu at the top of the table.

  4. Choose “Split Orders”Select Split Orders from the menu. The system will automatically divide each order along allocatable vs. unallocatable lines.

Fulfill the Allocatable Portion The newly split order containing available items can now be picked, packed, and shipped as normal.

What Happens After Splitting

The original order is split into two separate orders: one with all allocatable (in-stock) line items, and one with the unallocatable (out-of-stock) items. This split is also reflected in Shopify, so your order records stay in sync across both systems. The unallocatable order will remain in the queue and can be fulfilled once inventory is replenished.
